3. My Day

Today Kaileb let me sleep in. That was so refreshing. He went to bed ate midnight and stayed asleep until almost 6am. He at 5oz of his bottle then fell back asleep. So I put him back in his crib and crawled back into bed myself.

Although I just tossed and turned until he woke up again at 9:30 (please don’t tell me I’m becoming a morning person!).
Then I checked my phone and had a text from Kaileb’s baby sitter bailing on me. This sucked big time, I only needed her to babysit for about 1.5hrs so I could go to my eye appointment. Luckily another friend was able to watch him on such short notice.
Crises averted.

Of course once I got there the ladies at the vision clinic playfully chewed me out for not brining him. While I wouldn’t mind bringing him normally, I felt like I would not be able to concentrate on my exam if I had him with me. I do have to go back in two weeks to make sure these new contacts are working out so I may bring him in then.

Afterwards I went to go pick my lil guy up and ended up having a nice chat for a few hours. Kaileb only got fussy after I left for a little bit. He was just hungry. I’m glad it didn’t upset him that I was not there and someone else was taking care of him. Up until today his Grandma and my sister had been the only people to watch him without us being present.

Needless to say when I called to let her know I was on my way back it took every ounce I had not to ask how he was doing. It seems silly now, but I just really did not want to be THAT first time mom.
Once I got home it was time to hand baby over to Daddy so I could get some homework done. Needless to say I got way to distracted catching up on blogs, twitter, and facebook to concentrate on it. So I went for a walk.

I am not completely finished with my homework yet, but needed a break. Only so much computer programming homework you can do without it becoming boring. Well at least it is to me; especially since I technically already took this class a few years ago at YVCC. Too bad my credits didn’t transfer to CBC

Oh well, back to doing my homework. Bye!

Time To Enjoy App

I was recently contacted by a rep from Time to Enjoy to try out there app. There is a contest running for my readers, rules will be posted at the end of this post.

After downloading the app I played around on it for a while figuring it out. That Friday I had my sister come up with her daughter and her 2 nieces and 2 nephews. I knew I was going to need to have something fun planned for them.

That night we roasted hotdogs and had s’mores on my front porch. Why on my front porch? Well it was raining so we couldn’t do it anywhere else. Luckily the rain finally let up and we set up the tent in my front yard and had ourselves a front yard camp out.

The next morning we woke up and it was still raining. We were supposed to go to the Renaissance Fair in town. As a back up I got onto the Time To Enjoy App and looked up something else we could do that wouldn’t require us to be outside in the rain.

This is what I found:

           IMG_1783IMG_1784IMG_1792

Lucky for us as were were getting the kiddos ready to go to the movies the sun came back out and we were on for the Ren Fair again (which btw was also on the Time To Enjoy App, I just forgot to get a picture of it).

I have to say this is a great app if you are looking for something fun to do in your area. You can set up the app to post the event on your calendar to remind you of the event you’re going to. I highly recommend this app for everyone, not just mom’s looking for something to entertain their kids.

So here are the rules:
  • Download the free Time to Enjoy App on iTunes
  • Follow @timetoenjoy_app on Instagram, Follow Time to Enjoy on Facebook and Twitter.
  • Take a photo of an event you found on Time to Enjoy using Instagram and share on your Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #timetoenjoy_app and tagging Time to Enjoy. The contest will run from June 6th to June 25th. One reader will randomly be chosen to win a $500 Amex gift card OR a $500 total voucher for hotel and airfare on Southwest Airlines.
Please see Terms and Conditions for more information.

*I am being compensated by Time To Enjoy for this review, but my thoughts on this app are all my own.

30 Day Challenge: Day 1

I thought I would play along with the 30 Day Challenge I have seen floating around. Day 1 is to write something basic about yourself.

My name is Dannelle not to be confused with Danielle. I actually get kind of upset when people call me Danielle. There is no “I” in my name. Although I know just introduce myself as Danni. So much easier and saves my sanity where my name is concerned.

I am 26 years old. I have been married since August of ’08 to my best friend in the entire world. Check out our Fairy Tale romance here.

I just became a mom for the first time to the sweetest little boy. He was born this last April. You can check out his birth story here.

Contrary to popular belief, I am not your typical Capricorn. I have a lot of the Capri tendencies but act like an Aries. I contribute that to being raised by two very Aries parents.
Growing up I used to get my books taken away from me as a form of punishment (I didn’t like TV then).

Today I enjoy a nice glass of wine, some chocolate, my books, spending time with my family and friends and being outdoors.

I am also a Pagan High Priestess.

I really do not know what else to say about myself. I guess if you have any questions about who I am feel free to leave them in the comment section or if you really want you can email me too!

Happy Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day in Toppenish with our parents this year. Matt went golfing with his dad and we had dinner with mine.

I did not get very many pictures this year, but what I did get was pretty awesome.

Happy First Father's Day to my amazing husband and our awesome fathers.

7 Weeks

A few days ago this little chunkamonk turned 7 weeks old:

IMAG0894IMAG0905IMAG0908IMAG0909IMG_20120612_164310IMAG0902IMG_20120612_164339IMAG0910IMG_20120612_210458IMG_20120611_011901

As you can see he is just full of shenanigans these days, from holding his head up to those cute baby smiles, and who could resist those cool dude sunglasses he is rocking. And of course how could I not show you guys how much this kid sleeps! Seriously I wish I could sleep this much!  He has his fussy moments but what baby doesn’t? He is by far the most awesome kid I know.

Okay…that was probably a little to much mommy pride right there.

Until next week (he’ll be two whole months old you guys!).

Remember to Live

I was going to blog tonight about my now 7 week old son.
(I will post about that tomorrow.)

Instead I want to blog about how truly short life is.

You never know when it is going to be your time to go.

Tonight just showed me how precious life really is. I had a friend who just found out that she had cancer. A very treatable cancer. The survival rate is 90%.

She had just got home from Seattle where they were doing tests, she took her kids to karate class and when she got home she had gone to her room to change and lay down to rest. She made it to her room when her heart stopped and she died. She was an amazing woman. A wonderful mother, wife, and friend.

I am reminded tonight to live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment of it.

My heart is reeling from this news but I know that she would not want anyone to cry over her. I ask that everyone light a candle or send a prayer out to her husband and 4 children. They are going to need the strength to get through this.

Play Time

I had to hop on here and share this video of my awesome hubby playing with Kaileb.
Of course my puppy had to join in. I think she thought Matt was hurting him at first, then she figured out his was playing and had to join the fun.

We were doing this literally all day today because Kaileb has decided that he does not want to sleep at night anymore. He wakes up at 1am and does not let me put him down until 7am. So here is hoping that we kept him up long enough and his schedule will get turned around soon!

On a side note:
Matt let me take a nap this afternoon and I slept almost 6 hours! I woke up at 4pm.
It is now a little after 2am.
I think mommy is in need of getting her schedule turned around too!

Running Away

Last week I ran away. I ran an hour away from my life in TC.

Why?

Because I couldn't handle my PPD anymore. I needed to escape and be around my support net. I had started falling down that rabbit hole I had not been down since high school.

In high school I had gotten so depressed that I had started cutting. I got help and I know how to handle it when I get that way again. Hence why I packed myself and Kaileb up and ran away back to those who have supported me and been there for me through everything.

It was the best decision I could have made.

The kiddo and I were very well taken care of. I stayed with my best friend, her gorgeous daughter and "our" Mom. These guys may not be blood but they are my family. They helped me work through a lot of why I was depressed all while helping me take care of baby boy.

While we missed Daddy and he missed up the best thing he could have done for us was let us go and work through mommy's depression.

For those who are still here following this blog of mine, thank you for sticking it out with me. You guys rock!

I have got my depression back under control and I am starting to figure out this mom thing. Well that I can still do things I normally did before I became a mom, for example...blogging.

mom holding baby boy

having some tummy time at the bugs tball game

I see you mommy

talking to little man, he was being a fussy bucket

my bestie and I

the bug
Anyway, look for more posts to come. I am seriously trying to get back into the swing of things and rocking the mom thing to boot!
